Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts Seeking More Volunteers in South Coast Region Waiting Little Campaign Features 12- Year Old Da’Xion from Fall River
Fall River, MA: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts (BBBSEM), the largest Big Brothers Big Sister affiliate in New England, is looking to engage the community in supporting local South Coast youth waiting for a mentor. This initiative includes BBBSEM highlighting local youth who are waiting for a mentor as part of their “Waiting Little Campaign”.
This month, the campaign features 12-year- old Da’Xion. Da’Xion has been on the agency’s waitlist for a Big Brother for months. Da’Xion loves to be outside and enjoys sports, video games, and dancing. The sixth grader is looking for someone to play sports with and have new experiences with.
“I’d really like to have a consistent Big Brother in my life – someone who can be a positive and consistent role model for me,” says 12 – year old Da’Xion.
In addition to Da’Xion, there are dozens of other youth waiting for a mentor across the South Coast region.
BBBSEM is now enrolling and matching Littles and Bigs. Anyone can become a Big as the agency welcomes youth and adults of all races, ethnicities, cultures, socio-economic backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, and physical abilities. Volunteers must be 18 years old or older and be able to commit a few hours a few times a month for at least a year and have a passion for positively impacting a young person’s life.
In its 76 years, BBBSEM has supported more than 25,000 youth. For more information, to become a volunteer or to register your children, visit: www.emassbigs.org.
