Community Engagement and Marketing Internship

The nation’s largest male and adult-child one-to-one Community-Based mentoring agency – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay – seeks an energetic individual to work with a diverse and dynamic team, in a fast-paced environment. The Community Engagement and Marketing team is responsible for volunteer/family recruitment. They are on the front lines interacting with local communities and utilizing digital marketing to best attract volunteers and help youth. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the non-profit sector and mentoring from the perspective of community marketing.

Responsibilities:
Assist with Volunteer outreach – prepare marketing collateral materials for external communications, third party newsletters, and blog posts
Assist with outreach to community partners to provide them with information on Big Brothers Big Sisters services
Attend external youth community events
Work closely with collegiate outreach to engage Boston’s large student population
Research resources to find new opportunities to connect with potential volunteers and youth sources
Engagement outreach to current Bigs

Requirements:
Availability to work 10 – 15 flexible hours per week during fall and/or spring semesters
Goal-driven rising sophomore, junior, senior or graduate student
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Strong time-management and organization skills a must
Ability to self-motivate and stay on task
Bi-lingual and mentoring experience a plus

Compensation: Unpaid. If applicable can be used for credit in internship course.

Additional: This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain insight into the not-for-profit sector. You will work in a “hands-on” environment with individuals who respond daily to critical community issues. This is also a great chance to develop above-entry-level skills.
