Community Engagement & Recruitment Manager

We’re looking for a talented, motivated individual to help us serve more children by creating and executing recruitment strategies to attract adult mentors and children for our programs. We seek a self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage own performance effectively, plan and organize time and priorities to achieve results for your entire team. The ideal individual has a demonstrated ability to get results, is ambitious and goal driven, who thrives in a fast pace and deadline driven environment. This position is responsible for creating competitive and innovative recruitment strategies and design evaluation systems; prioritizes the frequent review of recruitment sources, channels and pipeline to ensure goals are met.
Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Minimum of four years of progressive responsibility and success in high volume recruitment and lead management, with sales background preferred. Volunteer management, customer service, community organizing, grassroots campaign experience a plus.
- Knowledge of the Greater Boston corporate, public and nonprofit landscape, communities, and cultures. Existing network of community relationships to leverage in this position a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Appreciation for ethnic, racial, and sexual diversity, strong cultural competence, and sensitivity in working with diverse populations.
- Experience successfully working with and recruiting volunteers along with keen understanding of volunteer motivations, needs, and expectations strongly desired.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, prospect, pursue, and close leads and maximize ROI and yield from all recruiting opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and work collaboratively to inspire, motivate and focus team members to the organization’s values and the agreed upon goals for volunteer recruitment and youth outreach.
- Effective and confident public speaker; proven ability to develop strong working relationships.
- Exceptional relationship management skills; ability to network and gain access to decision-makers; genuine listener; comfortable making cold calls and setting up appointments; consultative sales approach.
- Able to create competitive and innovative recruitment strategies and design evaluation systems; prioritizes the frequent review of recruitment sources, channels and pipeline to ensure goals are met.
- Experience with Salesforce and other technology tools used in lead management preferred.
- Must be willing and able to travel throughout the region when necessary. Must be available to attend events in the early morning, evening and weekends.
