Community Engagement & Recruitment Coordinator

This is a terrific opportunity to join the Community Engagement team at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay (BBBSMB), one of the largest youth mentoring agencies in the country, in a Recruitment Associate role. BBBSMB matches underserved youth with adult mentors in lasting one-to-one friendships supported by trained professional staff, and is currently serving over 3,000 children annually.  The agency is well respected both for its mission and for the quality of its services.

The agency is seeking a Community Engagement and Recruitment Coordinator to join our team to help drive the strategic growth of the agency through the ownership of volunteer recruitment and youth outreach efforts in the Greater Boston region. Additionally, he/she cultivates, stewards, recruits and supports our mentor-rich and youth-rich organizations and institutions that can provide sustained volunteer and youth participation.

The Coordinator works within a customer-focused,  goal-driven department and helps drive the vision, strategies and tactics for increasing consideration by volunteers, families and external partners and deepens and expands external relationships to enhance the agency’s ability to achieve its mission.

Qualifications:

·Bachelor’s Degree required.

· Minimum of two years of success in volunteer recruitment or in a sales environment. Volunteer management, customer service, community organizing, grassroots campaign experience a plus.

·There is a specific need in Chelsea, Revere, Lynn & East Boston where we have kids waiting to be matched with a mentor. Knowledge of the North Shore nonprofit landscape, communities, and cultures will be very helpful.  Desire to become embedded in the community. Existing network of community relationships to leverage in this position a plus.

·Able to execute against competitive and innovative recruitment strategies and design evaluation systems; prioritizes the frequent review of recruitment sources, channels and pipeline to ensure goals are met.

·Demonstrated ability to get results, be high energy, ambitious and goal driven.  Able to work in a fast pace and deadline driven environment.  Able to create competitive and innovative recruitment strategies; prioritizes the frequent review of recruitment sources, channels and pipeline to ensure goals are met.
