Fundraising Internship

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay (BBBSMB) – one of the nation’s largest and most impactful youth mentoring agencies – seeks interns to work with a dynamic fundraising team, in a fast-paced environment. Interns will gain learning, knowledge and professional skills experience by working with the Development Department with activities and projects that help to raise funds through special events, individual, corporate and foundation giving.

The BBBSMB internship experience includes a variety of opportunities to gain knowledge of nonprofit fundraising and stewardship. Interns learn about and work with our staff in areas such as:

Prospect research
Contributing to donor cultivation, stewardship and acknowledgement
Learning Raiser’s Edge database skills
Assisting with the adoption of Salesforce as our new donor management system
Interaction with donors

Desired qualifications are:

Availability at least 8-10 hours per week during the semester. Could also be a year long internship
Detail oriented; organized; good time management skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs (particularly Microsoft Excel) and social media resources (Facebook, YouTube, etc.).
Strong customer-service skills and professionalism with the public.
Sound writing and business communication skills.
Interest in research and analysis
Recommended Applicable Majors – Communications, Marketing, Business, Nonprofit Management

Compensation: Unpaid. If applicable, experience can be used for credit in internship course.
