Mother’s Day 2025 Highlight – Kristina Booth
This Mother’s Day, we’re proud to celebrate one of the incredible parents in our Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts community, Kristina Booth. A devoted mother of two, Kristina enrolled her children in our program to give them the gift of additional mentors—positive role models who’ve helped her kids grow, try new things, and build confidence. Her story is a powerful reminder of the impact a caring adult can make, not just on Littles, but on the families who love them.
What made you decide to enroll your children in Big Brothers Big Sisters?
I chose to enroll my children into BBBS so they could have another positive role model to be supportive in their growth and development. Also to allow them to build a relationship with a person they can learn to trust.
What does it mean to you to see your children have positive role models outside of your family?
It means the world to me that they both have someone else to ask for advice and support. Basically someone to lean on.
Can you share a memorable moment your children have had with their Bigs?
A memorable moment with my son, besides being happy and comfortable, was playing video games with Peter (Big Brother) and learning it’s okay to win and lose. That helped with his self esteem. And my daughter was getting out of element with her Big Sister through rock climbing high up in the air and was not scared! Also trying different foods together
In what ways do you feel supported as a parent through this program?
I have been in the program for many years and have had and maintained close and direct communication, and received support through the program, especially from Sheena (Match Support Coordinator), my #1 from BBBS, she is amazing!
How do you plan to celebrate Mother’s Day, and what does it mean to you?
Mothers day will be very special I plan on going out with Jordan and Leilani to dinner. I will be the happiest mother and telling jokes and laughing with them
What advice would you give to other parents considering signing their child up?
My advice is this is an amazing program. Not only extra support for you, but unconditionally for your children!
If you could say one thing to your children’s Bigs, what would it be?
Thank you for all of your support, patience, hard loving work you do. Not only in the world but for kids like mine. You are amazing.
Children s safety is our number one priority; throughout the duration of the match, not just the beginning!
