Part-Time After-School/Site Program Assistant at Massachusetts Maritime Academy

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod and the Islands (BBBSCCI) – one of the nation’s most impactful youth mentoring agencies – seeks an energetic individual to work with a diverse and dynamic team at our Massachusetts Maritime Academy Site-Based program.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod and the Islands seeks a School/Site Program Assistant to provide support to our Site-Based program at Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA).  In partnership with the staff site lead, the MMA Program Assistant will be responsible for greeting and supervising youth during transit to/from their afterschool program where they meet with their mentors, as well as facilitating parent pick-up at the conclusion of the day. During the program portion of the afternoon, the Assistant will be responsible for supporting the set-up and management of group activities to create a positive program culture. Additionally, the Assistant will support one-to-one program participant needs as they arise. The Assistant provides on-site presence at the MMA program to enhance relationships between staff, youth and volunteers.

Qualifications include: Experience working with elementary aged children strongly desired; experience working with both child and adult populations; demonstrated record of success working with varied constituencies.

Requirements:

Availability to work 6-7 hours per week. The expected schedule is Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2:30 to 6:00pm. This position extends to approximately 24 weeks per year.
Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving ability, and verbal communications skills; strong customer service orientation;
Enthusiasm, positive sense of humor and can do attitude
Mentoring experience a plus!

Salary: $11 – $15 per hour; commensurate with experience. BBBSMB is an equal opportunity employer.
