20 Minute Mentoring Activity  – Explore Curiosity – Tell a Story through Objects

In preparation for the outing, collect 5 items around your home that are meaningful to you. Take turns pulling one item out at a time and either create a story around this item OR share the meaning of the item to you. You can write down stories if you want to, but just talking aloud fosters creativity! Bigs go first and Littles follow by taking turns sharing the items you chose.

Make sure to ask questions:

  • Where did this item come from? If it could go anywhere, where would it go?
  • What is the meaning behind the item and why did you choose it?
  • Where does this item usually live in your home?
  • Add extra Curiosity building into this activity by keeping each item off screen and using only adjectives to describe the item to have each other guess what the item is!

Reflection

  • What did you learn about each other through what you shared?
  • What surprised you about what you learned?
  • What were similarities and differences in the items you each decided to pick?

Si pudiera ir a cualquier parte, ¿a dónde iría?
