Boston, Nov. 21, 2018Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay, one of the nation’s leading one-to-one mentoring programs for youth and the largest Big Brothers Big Sisters affiliate in New England, today announced that its President and CEO Wendy Foster has been named the winner of a Silver Stevie® Award in the 15th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.

Foster won in the Female Executive of the Year – Government or Non-Profit – 11 to 2,500 Employees category for her significant contributions to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay since first joining the organization in 2005. As a result of her dogged focus, commitment to the agency’s mission and results-driven strategic planning, Foster has led the nonprofit to achieve eight consecutive years of growth and to serve 3,269 total youth in Eastern Massachusetts. Throughout her tenure at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay, Foster has ushered in a series of innovative programs, initiatives and partners to fuel the agency’s capacity to serve more children with high-quality mentoring relationships.

“I appreciate the Stevie Awards judging panel for including me among so many inspiring and dedicated female executives, and particularly for the value this recognition brings in helping drive visibility for the important work our organization is doing,” said Foster. “With the continued support of our network of volunteers, donors, strategic partners and advisors, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay will carry this momentum into our 70th anniversary year with the goal of increasing service by 80 percent to reach 5,000 children in Eastern Massachusetts annually, providing each of them with the support of an invested adult mentor.”

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, employees and the companies they run worldwide. This year’s program included more than 1,500 entries for consideration, and Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award winners were determined by the average scores of more than 200 business professionals around the world, working on six juries. The awards were presented to winners on November 16 during a dinner event attended by more than 550 people at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel in New York City.

“In its 15th year, the Stevie Awards for Women in Business received a record number of nominations. With the new Women|Future Conference preceding the announcement of winners on November 16, it was a day to celebrate the achievements of working women around the world,” said Michael Gallagher, founder and president of the Stevie Awards.  “We congratulate all of this year’s Grand, Gold, Silver and Bronze Stevie Award winners for their achievements.”
