When you make the decision to become a Big…
You were probably thinking about it for a while and then suddenly you realized that you could spare 2-3 hours, twice a month, to hang with an awesome kid. Time to fill out an application!
When you find out you’ve been matched…
You submitted your application, conducted an in-depth interview with one of our enrollment specialists, waited for them to find a Little with similar interests… and now you’re matched! At this point you’re probably wondering what you’re Little is going to be like? Trust us, we’re wondering the same thing…
Meeting your Little for the first time…
It’s possible that your Little is going to be bursting with excitement and talking your ear off the second they meet you, but there’s also the possibility that they’ll be a bit shy at first. Don’t sweat it, they’ll warm up to you in no time.
After six months…
Now look at you two. Time has flown by. It hasn’t always been easy earning your Little’s trust- but when you do, it makes the whole process worth it! Imagine how close you two will be when you reach the one year mark!
When you find out you and your Little like the same music…
I know you want to be their cool Big Brother/Sister, but don’t underestimate your Little’s coolness. Chances are they’re into some of the same things as you and can even put you on to new stuff. #Beehive
When your friends say they don’t have enough time to be a Big…
You know there are lots of kids waiting for a Big in Greater Boston area so… you talk to some friends. Even the busiest people make time for what’s important- share your experiences, never hurts to provide a little encouragement. You could make a difference in more than just your Little’s life!
When your Little meets some of your friends or family for the first time…
Our Littles are the coolest of cool and whether your touring a museum or grabbing a slice of pizza, people can’t help but enjoy their presence. There comes a time where you may want to introduce him/her to other important people in your life… after all, you have been bragging about all the awesome things you two do!
When you help your Little prepare for a test and they ace it…
You might not be the top student in your calculus class, but you’re a certified mathematician when helping your Little study to pass their 5th grade algebra quiz. Instant gratification never felt so good!
When your Little gets accepted to the high school, college, internship, or program of their choice… (with sparking cider!)
Helping your Little get into the college or an important program they might not have had the courage to apply to was probably one of your goals going into your match …and you did it! Well, they did it… but I’m sure you played a role in inspiring them to chase their dreams and work hard to achieve their goals!
